Floodplain management grant
We've received an $80,000 NSW Government Floodplain Management grant to undertake a feasibility study on the upgrading of the South Albury levee.
Member for Albury Greg Aplin said the grant was part of 43 successful projects under the NSW Government Floodplain Management Program.
“This grant will help Council address flood risks and assist the South Albury community prepare for possible flooding,” Mr Aplin said.
The Council received the funding grant to conduct a feasibility study on the upgrading of the South Albury levee.
Environment Minister Mark Speakman said the grant program aimed to reduce the impacts of flooding and flood liability.
“This funding for councils is another way the NSW Government is able to support communities to prepare for extreme weather events well in advance of them occurring,” Mr Speakman said.
“This funding is specifically for projects that assess the risks and reduce the impacts of flooding in NSW.”
