Kiewa Street redevelopment update

11 July 2014

Work on the redevelopment of Kiewa Street is progressing well and the new pedestrian crossing will be open Monday (14 July, 2014)

While the crossing is yet to be fully completed and the lights operational, moving pedestrians away from the temporary crossing will enable AlburyCity to close the northern end of Kiewa Street between the new crossing and Dean Street.

Access to the small Centro Albury car park at street level will be closed to facilitate the works, this will allow AlburyCity to use some of this area for a project site office.

There will be limited access to the south of the new crossing to Smollett Street, with new storm water infrastructure being installed on the east side of Kiewa Street.

AlburyCity continues to encourage shoppers to use the underground car park at Centro Albury and also the Volt Lane Car Park which has plenty of capacity.

New temporary signage will be installed on fencing across Kiewa Street reminding shoppers that all retailers are open for business and access to the shops is via the existing walkways and the new crossing.
