It's writers' time to shine

Entries are now open for the Write Around the Murray writing competitions. TheShort Story Award (3,000 words) is open to writers from all over Australia  the Nano Story (50 words) is open to residents who live within 100km of Albury.

Stories in the short story competition should be inspired by one of eight images selected from the Albury Regional Art Gallery collection. Entries open on Wednesday 14 May and close on Wednesday 16 July. Aurealis Award winning author Kirsty Murray will judge the competition.

Write Around the Murray (WAM) is Albury’s premier literary festival. Taking place from 10 - 14 September WAM features a cavalcade of events and workshops for aspiring writers, illustrators and book lovers.

2014 will presentations and workshops from some of Australia’s best and brightest literary minds including Wendy Harmer, Michael Robotham, Nick Earls, Sonya Hartnett and Chris Masters. The 2014 WAM program will be officially launched in August.
