Albury's footpaths set for major assessment
Over the next few weeks residents will notice modified quad bike inspection vehicles travelling on local footpaths.
The assessment vehicles are operated by certified pavement inspectors travelling at a brisk walking pace with hazard lighting and other warning devices. They will be completing assessment and video recording activities of footpaths, cycleways and shared access ways in Albury.
Vehicles are clearly identifiable and operators will be mindful of pedestrians and give way to them wherever possible.
The information gained from this exercise will enable better management of local footpaths, enabling more effective maintenance and renewal strategies and improving their connectivity, mobility and safety.
The bikes will inspect more than 210kms of footpaths.
