Albury Wodonga secures Girls U/14 National Water Polo Championships
Albury Wodonga has been selected to host the U/14 National Girls Water Polo Championships for the next five years.
CEO of Water Polo Australia Chris Harrison made the announcement at WAVES Wodonga on Thursday September 11.
The six day Easter event is expected to inject more than $1.5M into the border economy annually, attracting over 1,000 athletes, coaches, parents and supporters. The first tournament will be held from 31 March – 6 April 2015 and will be contested by around 40 teams from across the country. Matches will be scheduled at WAVES Wodonga and the Albury Swim Centre.
The event is expected to attract around 40 teams initially but has scope to grow to 70 – 80 teams in future years.
