2014-15 Budget Adopted

26 May 2014

AlburyCity has endorsed its 2014-15 Operational Plan and Four Year Delivery Program at tonight’s Council meeting.

The 2014-15 Budget proposes more than 2500 expenditure items and a total cash spend of $126.5M including $46.6M for capital works. The ordinary rate increase for 2014-15 is 2.3% in-line with the IPART rate peg.

In 2014-15 AlburyCity will also deliver a small surplus in its General Fund. When all rates, water, sewer and domestic waste increases are combined the total increase for the average residential property in Albury is an additional $145 per year, or $2.78 per week.

The adoption follows a four-week public exhibition and information period where residents were welcome to make a submission. It resulted in eight community submissions received for Council’s consideration.

“We’re really pleased with this budget and believe it delivers some great outcomes for the residents of Albury,” Mayor Kevin Mack said. “Importantly it also continues our commitment to financial sustainability and is another big step towards improving Council’s bottom line.”
