New perimeter fence

Work is underway on a new perimeter fence for the Albury Botanic Gardens.

The brick column and decorative panel fence is being installed along the Smollett Street and Wodonga Place boundaries and the bridge entry on Dean Street.

The existing one-metre high cyclone fence has been in place since the 1960’s and the new fence, which will stand 1.8M tall will be a feature in its own right.

The fence design has been developed by dsb Landscape Architects to complement the heritage aspects of the gardens specifically elements of the main entry gates in Wodonga Place, which will be retained.

The new fence and upgraded smaller entry gates will not only improve the external look of the gardens but will increase security and assist in combating vandalism and it will allow the gardens to be locked at night.

Parklands Albury Wodonga is removing the existing fence in readiness for Reid Construction to install the new 320 metres of fencing.
