A master plan has now been developed after many hours of consultation with the design reference group which includes members of the Children’s Garden Working Group, Friends of the Botanic Gardens and AlburyCity staff.
The Children’s Garden is proposed for the bowling green lawn area of the Botanic Gardens, and would include the existing fern walk and giant bamboo plantation.
The plan allows for the establishment of a wetlands or billabong area to encourage wildlife into the garden; the establishment of mossy walls; bower bird nests to crawl through; wooden arched bridges; and a star and planets suspended on high arching wires between some of the large palm trees.
The master plan will be exhibited:
- At the Botanic Gardens main entry
- At Picnic in the Park at 11am on Sunday 21 October (Frederick’s Park) and at the Parenting Expo on Sunday 28 October.
- The LibraryMuseum
The plans will be on display and available for public comment until Friday 9 November 2007.
