Thurgoona Wirlinga Precinct Structure Plan

The Thurgoona Wirlinga Precinct Structure Plan seeks to create an urban development structure/pattern that will facilitate the orderly development of land in the short, medium and long term and deliver practical outcomes in response to:

  • Housing yields and density;
  • Employment areas land provision and location;
  • Activity centres land provision and location;
  • Community facilities land provision and location;
  • Transport and movement networks;
  • Open space and recreation facilities;
  • Natural systems;
  • Utilities; and
  • Land use conflicts.

It is anticipated that the Thurgoona Wirlinga Precinct Structure Plan will provide the framework for statutory planning controls, give local communities, developers and other investors greater certainty and confidence about future development in the Thurgoona /Wirlinga structure plan precinct and allow for whole of community involvement.

The Thurgoona Wirlinga Precinct Structure Plan was prepared by a design team lead by RPS. The Thurgoona Wirlinga Precinct Structure Plan has been based on extensive community consultation and feedback over a twelve month period.
